Hello parents and students,
My name is Brock Tesdahl. I will be the Physical Education teacher this year at Meadowbrook Elementary School! This will be my first year teaching within the Hopkins School District, but overall will be my second year teaching.
I am originally from the small mining town of Crosby, Minnesota. During my high school years, I was very active within my community and participated in many sport and recreational activities. After High School, I attended Bemidji State University. At Bemidji State, I doubled majored in Physical Education and Health Education with also obtaining minors in Coaching and Human Performance. I was fortunate to play basketball for the men's team at Bemidji State. It was one of the most rewarding experiences I was a part of. I learned important qualities such as communication, dependability, and reliability.
I have a lot of hobbies, but the hobby that takes up most of my time is training for marathons and triathlons. I competed in my first marathon two years ago (Grandma's Marathon), and since I ran my first marathon, in under three hours, I was then fortunate enough to to gain entry in the 2015 Boston Marathon! As I stated before, I also compete in triathlons. I competed in my first Olympic course triathlon this past summer in Minneapolis. Granted, training for these different type of races can be difficult, but it is quite rewarding once I cross the finish line!
Overall, I am truly excited to a part of the Hopkins School District. Being a part of the strong academic tradition the Hopkins School District is known for is a true gift to me. In the end, being active and living a healthy lifestyle are two main components to my lifestyle! They are actions that I love to embrace each day and teach to others. I am cannot wait for the opportunity to get the students in the gym and get them active while also learning about the importance of fitness. If one has any questions, please feel free to contact me at any time!
