Students in this course will study biology, which is the study of living things.  Students will study core biology concepts such as: Scientific thinking and method, cell structure and function, biochemistry, evolution of organisms, principles of genetics, DNA, bacteria and viruses, and human biology plus current topics.  Students will work in a collaborative environment that places emphasis on designing experiments, developing critical thinking skills, and applying scientific findings to the larger world. Students will spend time in class doing notes and discussion, classroom activities and technology-oriented work, and labs.  Students will be assessed on their in-class work, participation, and performance on tests and assignments.
