AP environmental Science is a semester long course that is sponsored by the college board and is fast paced and covers a lot of material. The course encompasses a variety of experiences including field trips, labs, and class notes/activities in the class to cover the needed topics. Topics include: general ecological principles, water resources, land resources and geology, waste management, toxicology and risk, air pollution, energy resources, and species conservation. This course is highly applicable to current events and involves lots of applied learning and relation to everyday life. Students can take the AP exam in May to obtain college credit, if they wish.
