Earth science covers the areas of geology, meteorology, hydrology, and astronomy. Topics include rocks and minerals, mining, plate tectonics, history of earth, atmosphere, weather forecasting, storms, global warming, fresh water sources, lakes and rivers, seasons, moon phases, planets, and space exploration.

This course will address the ins and outs of forensic science. Students will learn how to properly collect and analyze evidence. They will develop their observation, problem solving, and critical thinking skills to help solve cases and apply pieces of evidence to a crime scene.

Welcome to Life Science! We'll begin the year looking at how scientists answer big questions and solve big problems and how YOU (yes,YOU) are a scientist.

In Life Science, you will have the opportunity to observe and connect with topics related to the living world. Creating such connections is important to consider as you become more aware of your place within the global environment. Throughout the year, you will have the opportunity to develop both scientific- and critical-thinking skills. Develop your individual abilities to inquire, explain, predict and make informed decisions – invaluable skills in answering questions about ALL life on Earth.

This course identifies the notes, labs, activities, and assignments for 9th Grade Physical Science.

Welcome Mr. Leaf's 9th grade Physical Science Moodle site. Physical Science covers 1/2 year of intro to physics and 1/2 year of intro to chemistry. You should leave this course knowing a lot more about the world around you and how it works: why you absolutely must wear a seat belt, how projectiles, what chemicals make up your body, how fireworks work, exactly how machines make our lives easier, and a whole lot more!

Physical Science is a lab based course. We will be actively learning in the lab space and many of your assessments will require lab skills.

I am excited to share this year with you,

Mr. Leaf

A challenging engineering course that embraces the science and technology aspects of engineering.   Students will follow the IB Design Cycle to complete units involving robotics, rocketry, and bridge building.
