The course is structured around the theme of the teen brain. Units include brain anatomy and physiology, the unique nature of the teen brain and its role in decision making, things you may do that will not be good for your brain, things you can do that will optimize your brain function, and the brain's role in intimacy and connection.

8th Grade Physical Education & Wellness is a year long course aimed to teach students the various components of overall health.  Living a healthy lifestyle is a dynamic process that must consider the concurrent balance of physical, social, emotional, and spiritual/mind-body components.  This course will not merely educate students about physical activity and overall healthy lifestyle choices, but to help students to have a positive attitude, put their critical thinking skills into action, and to promote the benefits of healthy living to anyone they come in contact with.
