In Literacy in a Digital World, students will engage in new literacy skills using digital tools to explore the IB design cycle. Students will research global or local problems, examine existing solutions, design and test their own solution, and present or defend the solution to a broader audience. Minnesota Language Arts and Reading standards will guide instruction as students focus on increasingly complex texts, both print and digital. Research, critical thinking, and communication skills will be taught using strategies such as Cornell note-taking, Socratic seminar, and text annotation.
