Ascent Foundations is a course in which students develop a deeper sense of ownership for their education.

In this class students set individual goals, monitoring their progress toward those goals, and regularly measuring and assessing themselves against a readiness rubric, all in an attempt to reclaim control of their academic development and establish a trajectory toward school success and credit acquisition. This progress is recorded in a portfolio designed to give students a clear snapshot of their progress at any given time.

An additional element of this course is the continued development of skills presented in academic classes, and the completion of homework associated with those courses.

This course identifies the notes, labs, activities, and assignments for the 9th Grade Ascent Physical Science.

This course following a path similar to that of a general 8th grade Earth Science course. However, the content, instructional methods, and specific instructions have been modified for the Ascent (ALC) community.
